The Paris-based Hermès started some 180 years ago as a saddlery and has since grown into an exclusive fashion house that sells leatherwear, prêt-à-porter, perfume, and accessories. The company introduced its first watches nearly 100 years ago. Hermès watches, like the other products in its range, are elegant and of exceptional quality, but what makes Hermès truly unique is its unconventional approach to watchmaking. While it also sells more traditional watches, the brand dares to stop time or even hide time in its watches. Hermès is the only brand to create a watch – Le Temps Suspendu – that allows the wearer to decide whether to check the time or not.
Hermès produces watches for men and women, the best known of which is undoubtedly the Arceau (known for its complications), the Cape Cod (with a double or triple tour watchband), and the H Hour (with a case in the shape of an ‘H’).
